When writing about cold climate gardening, I am referring to zones 1a 1b, 2a and 2b in the Canadian Plant Hardiness classifications zones. Click here for more information on these zones. They are typically found in the northern parts of the provinces and in the southern parts of the Territories. These areas require a different style of gardening in warmer zones.
